a Carrara marble tasting table
This impressive wine-tasting table was a commission from a client for his private residence, where it is situated in his wine cellar.
It was carved from a single block of Carrara 1.2m x 0.9m x 0.9m weighing just under 3000kg, using 3D files supplied by the client’s designer. We used our Litox 5 axes saw and then our Omag 5 axes machine to cut and then carve the initial shape, and then used abrasives to produce a honed finish by hand in our workshop.
We then applied a special anti-stain coating to prevent the marble from being stained or acid etched by any carelessly spilled wine before delivering it to the client for installation in his cellar.
