Jade green vanity

Striking marble for a private residence bathroom

We were commissioned to fabricate a beautiful vanity for a client of an architectural practice in central London.

The unit, which is composed of a top, heavy section curved ends, and drawer fronts, was fabricated from matching slabs and blocks of Jade Green marble.

The double basins were carved out of a 200mm thick slab on a 5-axes CNC machine and then hand-finished by our masons.

We machined the underside to lighten the piece as much as possible, but the whole thing still weighed half a tonne.

The finished piece had to be craned into place through a window when it was installed.

Unfortunately the owner of the car had not received the notification that the road was being closed. Luckily for us it was a Porsche so the delivery could go ahead anyway, as the crane fitted over it. We would have been stuck if it had been a Range Rover!
