a Carrara marble tasting table
This impressive wine-tasting table was a commission from a client for his private residence, where it is situated in his wine cellar.

It was carved from a single block of Carrara 1.2 m x 0.9 m x 0.9 m weighing just under 3000kg.
The client’s designer supplied 3D files which we loaded onto our CNC software and cut and then carved the initial shape on our Litox 5 axes saw and then our Omag 5 axes machine. The final step was to finish by hand, using abrasives to produce a honed finish in our workshop.
We then applied a special anti-stain coating to prevent the marble from being stained or acid etched by any carelessly spilled wine before delivering it to the client for installation in his cellar.
